A Casual Update~

It’s been a HOT second since my last post here. If you follow me on my tumblr and Instagram, which you should, I’ve been a bit more active with posting new pieces as well as updates on events where I’ll be doing signings for The Margins. Keep an eye out for posts about SDCC 2019!

I’ve also gone through recently and updated some pages here. A few more pages of The Margins have been added into Finished Pages if you’d like to check those out, and the corresponding rough thumbnail sketches are in Thumbnail Sketches for an idea about my process.

New pieces have been added into Fan Art and Comics and Original Work, and a new page Short Comics has my original, short form comics that I usually post on Instagram that are very “in the day of” type comics.

Thats about all I’ve got at the moment.

"But where can I buy a copy of The Margins?" and Convention News

So glad you asked random citizen! The Margins  was officially released on July 23rd, after an amazing early release for the lovely people at SDCC, and has slowly been creeping into comic stores near you! *

*results may vary

You number one place to purchase a copy is going to be at TheMarginsComic.com , where you can buy either a print or digital edition or heck why not both!  It just went up on Comixology last week if you feel like going digital.

Stores you can check out;

And more to come!

I'm also going to be at Long Beach Comic Con this weekend (Sept 8-9) with Fanbase Press, taking part in the  Fanbase Press Presents: The Impact of LGBTQ Creators and Readers in Comics panel on Sunday at 4 and hanging out at Booth #700 for FBP from 12:30-2, so come say hi and I can sign your copy of The Margins

If you're closer to Oregon this same weekend you can also catch my author David Accampo at Rose City Oregon, where he'll also have copies on sale. You'll be able to find him under a big ol banner that looks like this with art he blatantly stole from me.

I think that's it! I'm posting a few new things in the tab for The Margins, and check out my Insta and tumblr for a bevy of dumb but cathartic fanart I've been churning out.

Post SDCC Update

I survived and am an emotional mess.

The release of The Margins this weekend at SDCC went amazingly! I had so much fun at the booth Friday-Saturday with David talking to people interested in the book and signing it for them. We also did a few audio interviews that I'll post here once they are live.

Saturday was by far our best day, thanks in no small part to the ridiculously kind words by Sara, Jen and Kristen of the Comadres y Comics podcast. They were part of a panel that day, while David and I were at the booth for signings, about Latinx in comics and gave The Margins high enough praise that we got a rush of people coming straight from the panel to buy a copy (also a copy of Quince which you should also check out! )! Hearing that our work is making such a strong connection with readers, especially Latinx and other POC, is a huge honor for me. I hope that everyone who walked away with The Margins this weekend finds something they're looking for in comics in our book.

The rest of the con was pretty rad and I was able to go to a lot of panels I had wanted to see, including the new Invader Zim movie ohhhh I can't wait ╰(°ㅂ°)╯ also preeeetty sure I exchanged the briefest of words with Doug Jones while going into a swanky party Friday night that David got me into.

And now I'm basically headed right back out the door to visit family. It's going to be Christmas in July for those nerds with the haul I picked up in the Exhibition Hall.

This is the First Post and it's mostly about The Margins

Welcome to the somewhat new and improved website!  This poor thing has been left pretty neglected for the past year or so due to work and not always being able to share said work publicly. But I've finished a HUGE project this year; my first ever graphic novel!

The Margins, which you'll find more info about in the above navigation bar with a behind the scenes look and preview pages, is illustrated by myself and written by my super talented collaborators David Accampo and Paul Montgomery and published through the amazing Fanbase Press. It will be released on July 23rd, but early pre-orders are being sent out and I've already gotten word from family members out here in L.A. that they've gotten their copy!

For these special pre-orders I drew a small sketch to go with each book that was purchased, and as I hear that more of them have been received I'll also start posting them on my Instagram which you can see on the right side of this screen. Please check out the book's homepage if you're interested in purchasing a copy!

I would also highly recommend checking out the Facebook Page for the book, where we have a bunch of audio interviews featuring myself and David and Paul as well as early reviews that have been coming in. Spoiler, so far the reviews have been really positive! :D

And if you happen to be heading down to SDCC next weekend, come stop by the Fanbase Press table to meet David and myself and pick up a copy of the book a few days before the official release! We'll be signing Thursday-Saturday from 3-4, and you can find us at Small Press Table O-03, and check out the Fanbase website for more info on the rest of what Fanbase has planned for SDCC.

I think that's all the important stuff! I'll try to be better about keeping this updated going forward, especially with more news about The Margins as it's released.

Peace out nerds ( v ̄▽ ̄)
